The inspiration behind the Wild at Heart sign

The inspiration behind the Wild at Heart sign

If you’ve been around the Little w community for a while you’ve seen our Wild at Heart signs. We’ve created several versions of colours and collections with this beauty. The inspiration behind this familiar favourite is a good one!

The back story of the sign comes from the home of former bachelorette (where my bachelor fans at?!), Canadian designer and influencer Jillian Harris. I naturally started following Jillian Harris after her season on the bachelorette and followed along her build and design of her home.

In Jill's house, which you can find all the details and tour on her blog, is a giant Wild at Heart framed tea towel. Jillian’s effortless modern farmhouse style caught our eye and we were inspired to make something similar.

Our original red Wild at Heart is laser cut, hand painted and carefully crafted. The wild at heart sign has evolved over the years from rustic white barn wood to the current modern design. The letter style and heart stay the same with each.

And if you’re following along with Jillian Harris – the next Jilly Box has a Wild at Heart print. Or maybe you’ve met our good friends over at Birch Hill Studio who have the exclusive Jilly pink Wild at Heart from the cover of the Fraiche Food, Full Hearts Cookbook. Both Jillian Harris and Tori Wesszer took one of the Jilly pink signs home too!

It’s a sweet connection to a fellow Canadian business woman. It’s also become one of our most popular signs and favourites to get creative with.

Watch for seasonal collections of the Wild at Heart sign or find the original red on our site anytime!

Share and tag us @littlewstudio with your Wild at Heart signs!
